How to fill it in

  1. 1Read part 1 before ordering: it says what the extract actually shows.
  2. 2Have all addresses of the last five years ready, otherwise an extract will be missing.
  3. 3Check the extract you receive against part 3, entry by entry.
  4. 4Only for an unjustified entry: send the template letter in part 4 to the office.
  5. 5Ask the office about the period that applies before you file the request.

Frequently asked questions

For anyone applying for a flat or room in Switzerland, and especially for anyone with an entry in their extract who does not know how to handle it.

CHF 17 flat, CHF 18 for delivery by post or electronically, and CHF 22 by registered post. These amounts are set exhaustively by federal law in Art. 12a of the fee ordinance to the SchKG. Higher amounts are not provided for.

For a specific application, yes. Anyone who credibly establishes an interest may inspect it, and where a contract is about to be concluded that interest is presumed (Art. 8a paras. 1 and 2 SchKG). A copy is enough, you need not hand over the original.

A third party's right to inspect expires five years after the proceedings end (Art. 8a para. 4 SchKG). The entry stays in the register but is no longer shown to third parties. Moving house changes nothing: on departure the register is reported to the new office.

If you filed an objection and the creditor did not then initiate proceedings to set it aside, you can ask the office not to disclose the enforcement to third parties any more (Art. 8a para. 3 lit. d SchKG). The template letter is in part 4.
