  • AIG Art. 37 · Wechsel des Kantons

    Art. 37 para. 1 AIG requires prior approval from the new canton, but applies only to THIRD-COUNTRY nationals. For EU and EFTA nationals the AIG applies only so far as the Agreement on the Free Movement of Persons provides otherwise, and it does: their short-stay, residence and settlement permits are valid throughout Switzerland. They need no new permit and simply present their permit card when registering.
